The scooter: Pride Mobility Victory 10 LX

Up to 8 MPH. You will keep up with people walking briskly, which in a marina crowd is what you want.
Up to 13 miles per charge. Cabo San Lucas is roughly two miles end to end. That is a lot of loops.

Marina hotels and the boardwalk. The marina loop is the single best surface in Cabo. Wide, smooth, continuous, level, and it runs past most of the restaurants and the sportfishing docks. We meet a lot of guests right here.

Médano Beach properties. The hotels along Médano are close together and the frontage road is drivable. Note that the beach itself is soft sand. The scooter will not cross it. We will explain your options.

Downtown and Cabo Wabo area. Delivered to your rental or hotel lobby. Streets here are grid pattern and flat.

Pedregal. Up the hill on the Pacific side. The road grades are real. The Victory 10 LX will climb them, but a Pedregal guest should expect noticeably shorter range and should charge every night without fail. We will say so when you tell us your address.

The Cruise Tender Dock. Ships do not dock in Cabo San Lucas. They anchor in the bay and tender passengers into the marina. This is the part almost nobody else covers. Give us your ship, your date and your all aboard time. We will meet you at the tender landing with a charged scooter and take it back from you there before you sail. You are not booking three days for an eight hour visit. You are booking eight hours.

Late arrivals. If you land at SJD in the evening and reach your Cabo San Lucas hotel at eleven at night, that is fine. We deliver at night. It is a phone call.

Your length of stay. The daily rate falls as the rental gets longer. A week costs less per day than two days. A month costs less per day again. And because we have no minimum, a short rental is genuinely priced as a short rental, not rounded up to three days.

Honest answers to the things people worry about

“Are the sidewalks in Cabo San Lucas usable?” Partly, and this is the truthful answer. The marina boardwalk is excellent. The main tourist streets are mostly fine. But away from the marina you will find curb cuts missing at intersections, sidewalks that end abruptly, and steps built into the pavement in front of shops. Most scooter users here end up riding in the road on quieter streets. That is normal in Cabo and drivers are used to it. Stay on the right, keep the lights on after dark, and use the marina loop whenever it is going your way.

“Can I get to Médano Beach?” You can get to the edge of it. The beach clubs along Médano have hard packed access paths and staff who are generally very willing to help. Soft sand defeats every four wheel scooter ever built, ours included. If getting onto sand matters most, tell us and we will point you to the firmest access points.

“Can it handle the hill up to Pedregal?” Yes. It is a strong machine. It will just use more battery than a flat day. Charge overnight and it is a non issue.

“Will it fit in a taxi to San José del Cabo?” Not assembled. The scooter comes apart for transport but it is a full size unit, and a standard Cabo taxi will not take it. A large SUV will. If you plan to move around the whole Los Cabos area, tell us and we will plan for it.

“What if I do not like it?” Then do not take it. You have not paid. That is the whole point of paying at delivery.

Local knowledge for Cabo San Lucas

Use the marina as your spine. Almost everything a visitor wants to do downtown is within a few minutes of the marina boardwalk, and the boardwalk is flat and continuous. Plan your day around it and the town becomes easy.

Restaurants at the marina are largely step free. Many are open fronted with level entries. Further into town, older buildings often have one step at the door. Staff will usually help, and a single step is manageable if you can stand and take a few paces.

Cruise days change the crowd. When two or three ships are in, the marina fills up between about ten in the morning and four in the afternoon. Move slowly, and use the outer edge of the boardwalk.

Land’s End and the Arch. These are reached by boat, not by land. Panga operators at the marina board from a floating dock. If you have limited mobility but can transfer with help, several operators handle this well. Ask us who is currently good at it, because it depends on the crew.

Heat. From June to October it is hot and humid. Park in shade. A vinyl seat left in full sun becomes genuinely painful to sit on. A light towel over the seat solves it.

Speed. Downtown pavement is uneven enough that the 8 MPH setting is rarely the right one. Use the speed dial. It exists for this.
